Luau Kalamaku at Kilohana Plantation on Kauai

Luau Kalamaku brings you to historic Kilohana Plantation, just outside Lihue, for a Kauai evening with plantation grounds, craft demonstrations, Hawaiian games, dinner, open bar and a theatrical main show. The setting gives the night an old estate feel before the performance begins.
The Kalamaku show tells a story of ancient Polynesian voyagers crossing the South Pacific and carrying their traditions to new islands. Music, drums, hula, Tahitian dance, fire and stage effects make the performance the centerpiece of the night.
Before dinner, you can spend time with Hawaiian arts and crafts, island games and the imu ceremony, where the kalua pig is removed from the underground oven. Dinner, dessert, coffee and live music follow before the main show begins in the Luau Pavilion.
Kilohana Plantation Before the Show
Kilohana Plantation is located close to Lihue, Nawiliwili, Kapaa, Wailua and Poipu, which makes it easy to reach from many parts of Kauai. The plantation setting gives Luau Kalamaku a different feel from a beach luau or garden-only evening.
You can keep the night focused on the luau, or add more time at Kilohana with the Kauai Plantation Railway ride or the Manor House Experience at Gaylord’s Restaurant.
Luau Kalamaku Packages
Hawaiian Luau Package: Includes standard seating.
Silver Luau Package: Includes elevated seating with better views of the show.
Gold Luau Package: Includes premium seating closest to the stage.
Train Ride: This optional upgrade takes you through the 105-acre Kilohana Plantation before the luau feast. The ride passes plantation homes, forested areas and fields with pineapple, taro and sugarcane. You also stop to feed animals and see pigs, goats, sheep, cattle, horses, Clydesdales and donkeys. After the train ride, you can enjoy the imu ceremony, arts and crafts, and time around the historic mansion shops.

The Kalamaku Performance
The show gives Luau Kalamaku its identity. The production uses dance, chant, drums, fire and theatrical staging to follow a voyaging story across the Pacific. If the performance matters most to your group, compare the Silver and Gold seating options before booking.
Silver seating gives you an elevated view of the show, while Gold seating places you closest to the stage.

If you are on the south or west side of Kauai, head EAST. Kilohana Plantation is located directly after the Kauai Community College on the left-hand side of the road. Look for the white picket fence. The luau is located next to the Kauai Plantation Railway station at the far left end of the parking lot.
Transportation add-on: Transportation is roundtrip and per person. Depending on the location, pick-up is between 3:30 pm and 4:45 pm. Exact times will be emailed to you. If you are not staying at one of the locations listed below, pick-up will be at the closest location to where you are staying.

Where is Luau Kalamaku located?

What is the Kauai Plantation Railway upgrade?
The train ride is an optional pre-luau upgrade through Kilohana Plantation. You pass plantation scenery, crops and animal areas, with a stop to see and feed animals before the evening luau activities.
What is the Manor House Experience?
The Manor House Experience includes a four-course dinner at Gaylord’s Restaurant, shopping time inside the plantation home, a torch-lit walk to the Luau Pavilion and premium seating for the Kalamaku show.
