Held oceanfront overlooking a beautiful Maui sunset, the Luau at Grand Wailea invites you to experience a traditional Hawaiian luau in Grand Wailea style!
Travel back in time as talented entertainers depict the courageous Polynesian voyagers who sailed across the South Pacific to discover new land. The luau's theatrical presentation re-tells the documented story of the first ocean expedition of Moikeha and La'amaikahiki who landed at an area called Honua'ula on Maui.
The story continues with the legends of Maui as the singers and dancers portray the gods and goddesses who guarded these skilled navigators as they migrated to the island of Maui and helped them learn to live together in peace and harmony.
Activities at this luau include the imu ceremony (unearthing of the kalua pua'a roast pig from the traditional underground oven), Hawaiian lawn games, hula lessons and temporary Polynesian tattoos. Following these cultural presentations is the big luau feast, which features a wide variety of delicious foods, as well as an open bar. Dinner is followed by a spectacular Polynesian revue with music and dances from Hawaii and greater Polynesia.
