Royal Lahaina Luau, also known as Myths of Maui Luau, brings you to an oceanfront evening at Royal Lahaina Resort on Ka'anapali Beach. Sunset over the water, West Maui mountain views, conch shell sounds and drums set the tone before dinner and the show begin.

Your evening starts with a shell lei greeting and the traditional imu ceremony, where the kalua pua'a roast pig is uncovered from the in-ground oven. Dinner follows with an all-you-care-to-eat buffet, open bar and island-style dishes, including kid-friendly menu items and a tofu veggie stir fry option with advance notice.

After dinner, the Myths of Maui show brings Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan and Maori music and dances to the stage, ending with a fire-knife finale. This Maui luau gives you a classic Polynesian show, beachfront resort setting, dinner, drinks and family-friendly dining in one Ka'anapali evening.

Oceanfront Ka'anapali Luau

Royal Lahaina Resort is located on Ka'anapali Beach, one of West Maui’s best-known resort areas. If you are staying in Ka'anapali, Lahaina, Napili or Kapalua, the location keeps your luau night on the west side of Maui.

The evening has a classic resort-luau feel, with sunset views, an imu ceremony, buffet dinner, open bar and a stage production that moves through several Polynesian island cultures.

General Luau and VIP Upgrade

General Luau: Includes aloha shell lei greeting, dinner, open bar and luau show. Tables are pre-assigned by date of booking. Tables are ohana-style and may seat more than one family, with up to 12 guests per table.

VIP Upgrade: Includes a reserved seating area, flower lei for ladies, kukui nut lei for gentlemen, first set of tables to begin dinner service and premium open bar selection. VIP tables are in the first four rows closest to the stage and face forward.

Imu Ceremony and Myths of Maui Show

The imu ceremony is one of the early highlights of the evening. You can watch as the kalua pua'a is uncovered from the underground oven before dinner service begins.

The show follows dinner with Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan and Maori music and dances. The fire-knife finale closes the night with a high-energy ending.
